Ways to help

Where volunteers make the difference

There is no single kind of volunteer. Some work in the field, some behind a camera, some at a desk and some on the night of an event. All of it is useful, and none of it requires you to be an expert before you start.

  • Learn fieldwork and become a researcher for the Institute.
  • Photograph or film an Italian festival, concert or community event.
  • Help to compile a directory of Italian resources in Los Angeles.
  • Give clerical help with programs, courses or the archive.
  • Offer public relations or fundraising experience.
  • Assist on the evening of a public program.
  • Donate home video or photographs of family and community celebrations.
