A small institute is kept alive by people who give time, skill and money. Every route below leads to the same work.
Why it matters
Recording a culture costs money and hours
Tape, hard drives, cataloguing, travel to interviews, venue hire, printing and postage all have to be paid for. Because the Institute is a nonprofit organisation with no large endowment, contributions from members and supporters go directly into fieldwork and public programs rather than into overheads.
You can help in cash or in kind. Both are equally welcome, and both are put to immediate use.

Become a volunteer
Researchers, photographers, videographers, editors and event helpers are always needed. Training is offered where it is required.
Give as an organisation
Sponsor a program
Businesses and institutions can support a concert, a workshop or a publication, and be recognised for helping a local cultural record to survive.
Give in kind
Not every contribution is financial. The Institute keeps a list of the practical things it needs, from printing and design to recording equipment and professional camera work. If you can offer any of these, it saves money that then goes into fieldwork.

How to give
The simplest route is to complete a membership or volunteer form, print it and post it to the Institute with your payment or your offer. If you would rather discuss a larger gift, a named sponsorship or a gift of material to the archive, please contact the Executive Director first.
