Governance
A working board for a working institute
As a nonprofit organisation, the Institute is guided by a board that takes responsibility for its finances, its legal standing and the direction of its programs. Officers are drawn from the worlds of scholarship, public culture and community life, and they give their time to the work rather than merely lending their names to it.
The roles below are recorded in the Institute's own history. Some individuals have served in more than one capacity over the years, and responsibilities are shared as the organisation grows.
Vice President

Supports the President, helps to plan programs and stands in when the President is unavailable.
Secretary and Treasurer
Alice Hacela
Keeps the records of the organisation and oversees its accounts and day to day finances.
Director of Public Programs
Alberto Pranzo
Plans and produces concerts, lectures, exhibitions and symposia in partnership with host institutions.
Legal Counsel
Thérèse C. Tuttle
Advises the board on legal matters, agreements and the obligations of a nonprofit organisation.
Technical Director
Francesco Mancini
Guides recording, media and technical questions across the Institute's field and archive work.
